Anušić: We are increasing the number of recruits, decision on corvettes by the end of the year

Defense Minister Ivan Anušić stated that interest in continuing a military career after the first generation of recruits exceeded expectations.
Out of about 800 recruits, 260 expressed a desire to remain in the Armed Forces.
Croatia has a problem filling its reserve forces, but can currently meet all operational needs.
The number of recruits is being increased to 900, and from August to 1,000 per generation.
There is great interest in building two corvettes, with priority on involving the domestic shipbuilding industry; a decision is expected by the end of the year.
