Unilateral ceasefire declared by Ukrainian president begins

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky declared a unilateral, indefinite ceasefire that came into effect at midnight local time.
Head of the Ukrainian presidential office Kyrylo Budanov said the ceasefire will continue as long as Russia does not attack.
Shortly before the ceasefire began, Russian news agencies reported a drone attack on Crimea, allegedly killing five civilians in Dzhankoi.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered a unilateral ceasefire only for Friday and Saturday, marking the victory in World War II.
During Tuesday, Russia carried out massive attacks on Ukraine, killing more than 20 people, while Ukraine retaliated with strikes on a Russian weapons factory and a large refinery.
